WHY

RetroRetro, a niche store specializing in retro football jerseys, has a strong physical presence but faces significant challenges in its digital operations. Limited store hours and a lack of integration between its physical store, website, and social media have hindered growth opportunities. Additionally, the current webshop is outdated, difficult to manage, and fails to attract online customers effectively. With a rising demand for retro football jerseys and the increasing dominance of e-commerce, the project aims to strengthen RetroRetro’s digital presence, allowing it to reach a broader audience, build a cohesive brand identity, and make operations manageable for the store’s owner, Jakob.

HOW

The project followed the Double Diamond Framework, ensuring a structured approach:


Discover: Conducted research to understand RetroRetro’s challenges, market trends, and customer expectations. This included desk research, competitor analysis, and user interviews.


Define: Identified critical problems, such as the website’s outdated design and lack of cohesive branding, and outlined opportunities for improvement.


Develop: Created solutions, including prototypes, a sitemap, a new design system, and content strategies.


Deliver: Implemented a redesigned webshop, marketing strategies, and operational tools ready for immediate use.

WHAT

Webshop
We completely redesigned RetroRetro’s webshop using Shopify to deliver a seamless and engaging experience. The new site features intuitive navigation, with categories like European, South American, and Limited Edition jerseys, making it easy for customers to explore the collection. High-quality visuals and detailed product descriptions highlight the unique stories behind each jersey, creating shopping experience.

Visual Identity
To enhance the brand’s presence, we crafted a new logo that incorporates retro football elements, giving RetroRetro a distinct and recognizable look. The visual identity is consistent across all platforms, blending retro aesthetics with a modern twist. Nostalgic imagery was also integrated to celebrate the culture and history of retro football jerseys, staying true to the brand’s personality.

Marketing Materials
We developed a range of marketing materials to expand the brand’s reach and engagement. Social media campaigns were tailored specifically for Instagram and TikTok, using storytelling and nostalgia to connect with audiences. Personalized email marketing templates were created to build strong customer relationships, while SEO-optimized website content helps improve the brand’s visibility and attract new audiences.

User Experience Enhancements
The user experience was significantly improved with faster website performance and optimized usability for both mobile and desktop. Enhanced search and filtering options were introduced, making it easier for customers to find the products they want and enjoy a smooth shopping journey.

Operational Tools
To simplify daily operations, we utilized Shopify’s mobile app, allowing the store owner to easily manage inventory and product listings. The integration of the POS system ensures that the inventory stays synchronized between the physical store and webshop, making operations more efficient and reliable.
These updates were designed to modernize RetroRetro’s digital presence while preserving its authentic retro vibe, ensuring the brand delivers a compelling and cohesive experience both online and offline.
